If you’ve read the piece above, this week has been about getting the old apartment ready for settlement and handing over my keys. After 7 years of being there, I was a bit nostalgic seeing it go. After all, it was the place I moved to when I just finished my speciality training, lived through the pandemic, started many projects (including this newsletter) and even proposing to my wife!
Needless to say, it holds a special place in my memories but it was more than time to move on. But before that, it was time for just 1 last look…
If you’re thinking that it looks like a generic empty apartment, then you’d be totally right. The thing is, until this weekend, I had NEVER seen the apartment like this. I initially rented the place as a furnished apartment and when I finally bought it, the previous owner threw in the furniture. So for me, it’s always had things in there that made it feel lived in even from the start. To see it so empty was very new.
Minus the nostalgia, sorting out that side of things has felt like clearing up some mental space so that I can start working through my backlog of things that have built up. I’m going to take this week and next as a bit of a celebration before pushing on in June. That said, the next couple of weeks are pretty busy with work!
Given that Ramadan and my vacation are long over, these next few months will have more of a gym/running vibe I feel. The weather has been pretty erratic so the chance of teeing up another productive flying lesson is significantly lower. That and it gets VERY cold up there quite quickly and the model I fly doesn’t have heating or cooling. Seems like the perfect chance to catch up on health goals.
Lastly, here are some photos of the cats! Please do leave a comment or drop me an email with what you;ve been up to!
