Weekly Summary (20th Feb 23)

It’s only February and I’m already finding the weeks are starting to blur. I literally had to look at my calendar to see what I’d been up to since the last email! Maybe it’s just old age.

This week has been a more relaxing one since I kept it intentionally light after all the coughing/chest infection the previous week. That said, it was quite busy none the less.

I have been good this year at keeping afternoons or half days relatively empty of work. This doesn’t equate to an afternoon off. Rather, all the “life admin” tasks get piled up and sorted in those sessions since there are some things that I can only realistically do in business hours. Overall just increase that slightly has meant far less stress on the whole. I’ve been able to get trades people in to finish things in the apartment.

I even managed to find the time to catch up with my cousin after nearly 7 or 8 MONTHS of trying to meet up! A nice steak was had and long chats ensued. The catch up made me realise just how much I’m missing in the world of my extended family. I have not seen another cousin for her entire pregnancy and her child is 3 months old. Another one moved houses years ago and I have yet to visit. Another cousin started and is nearly done with a uni degree since I last saw him!

During the conversation, the steaks were high (har har har)

The week also had me at the beach side for a day at our campus that’s down the road from the water. I love coming out here every so often. It’s just so relaxing compared to the rest of the complex work that our health network does.

The weekend itself was pretty busy with paediatric surgery all Saturday. I spent the whole of Sunday slowly doing errands and assembling my Eight Sleep Pod Cover. The thing is expensive but also seems like exactly what I need for a refreshing nights sleep. I’ll put up a full review here after a week or so of trying it out…

My mum was cleaning her place and also found some photos I had taken on my last few days of high school. Gotta love my first camera: Kodak 2MP Digital goodness. Enough to make memories though…
