The universe is set on making the last weeks before my holidays incredibly busy! I’ve literally done another 3 days >12hrs long, the last 2 being about 18 hours back to back. No, it was planned to be like that – unexcepted things happened.
So to say that I’m ready for a holiday is an understatement! It’s getting to the point where days are blurring and things that I wanted to mention 3 newsletters ago are still not yet on here. Not sure I mentioned receiving the Samsung prize from about a month ago! Anyway, daily thoughts below the pic…

I can’t even remember the last time my wife and I had the same weekday off at the same time. It wasnt really a day off, but we were both home.
It’s actually amazing to think that apart from sleep, we really don’t spend that much time physically in the same space…
Wonder if that’s the norm or if we’re weird?

It’s one of those long days. Started by leaving at 0715 in the morning and returned home around 1145pm. It was a looooooong day. I suppose I had a couple of hours in between as down time to get some lunch and sort out some admin, but that still counts as work right?
Tomorrow is another looooong day. Only a week or so til holidays

It literally feels like my head hit the pillow and I was up again for work. As I write this, my otherwise “normal” weekend day has turned into a looooong one. The afternoon case was not expected to be this difficult for the surgeons. There’s 2 sitting here pondering the anatomy. I wonder how long it’ll be?

It’s about 0100 on the 21st now. The answer was that what I expected to be a 3 hour surgery ended up taking over 9 hours! My brain is mush but I can’t yet sleep.
