This week has been an interesting mish-mash of on-calls, work, unexpected chaos and the feeling of being well rested — not the usual mix of moods for any given week! Highlights below:
- Was on-call early in the week. Thankfully, all cases done before midnight, but I never sleep well
- Timing/logistics have meant that a long outstanding maintenance issue is finally getting sorted. Also means there is a giant hole in the ceiling of the guest bathroom…
- Had some unexpected tie at work to catch up on a bit of admin work that had been lingering around – nice to actually be able to do work at work!
- Went out with some work friends for dinner. It was a vegan restaurant with some pretty delicious food and really cool decor
- Friday til now has been unexpected tasks and apart from writing this, none of the creative things I wanted to get done. That’s ok — managed to catch up with parents, call patients and rest up for the week/s ahead.
- Might also be buying a new car – after all of Elon’s antics, I think Tesla’s are no longer for me, even though I love the tech. It’s been something I’ve pondered for a while but I just hadn’t found a close alternative. This might get finalised and be in the next edition of the newsletter
