Weekly Summary [10-Aug-2025]

I’m not sure what a “standard” week for me usually looks like, but this one would have to be pretty darn close! Here’s some of the highlights:

  • Received some gifts from Samsung Australia — I have yet to unpack it and see, but that’s next on my list
  • Trying out the new AI running coach on the Galaxy Watch8 really made me puffed out!
  • In addition to the meeting mentioned above, I ended up calling a patient’s family because they had some questions. Near the end of the chat, in passing, the mentioned the family has a rare genetic disorder that can have fatal consequences. Call it luck/divine intervention/whatever, but having a few more minutes possibly did save a life. All from a phone call.
  • Had a lovely walk in the city and went back to a cafe I hadn’t been to for nearly years with the wife. Melbourne has been amazing this winter with the weather!
  • Was tidying up my old boxes in my parent’s garage and found my old Game Boy Micro!
    • even though it’s 20 years old and probably not been charged in a decade, the rechargeable battery still works and I played some Mario Kart on it!
  • Caught up with my cousin after nearly 1.5 yrs – life really does go so fast!
    • With the pace of work and everything else, it made me realise just how much of the highs and lows I’ve missed in the extended family
    • A cousin had a child – I had no idea! Another had a tragic medical event – I hadn’t heard of that either. It really did show that my priorities in life need a bit of tweaking.
