It’s the last few days here in California! I can’t believe that the time has flown by so quickly. It only seemed that other day that I had arrived!
It’s made me a lot more reflective about everything for sure. For once, I have the time to do the “reflecting” instead of pushing it for some other time, which has been a new experience!
On the topic of new experiences…
I had to take the Cybertruck for a drive while I was in California. It’s just such a ridiculous truck! There’s just nothing that’s just so angular on the road. Now, I’m a small car person and this was gigantic by my standards but I have to say that it’s much more nimble than my car in some ways! It was a surprising drive for sure…
Given the limited time here, it was also the time to say my thanks and take the people who have kindly spent their time “showing me the ropes” of how everything in Stanford works. Initially, I thought of having a BBQ but decided that a nice dinner would be easier to plan.
It was nice to get most of the people who were instrumental in making this trip such an amazing experience. It’s not often that you can herd such busy people into 1 spot either!
On the one hand, I’m sad that this (almost) magical time away is over and done with. On the other hand, I feel ready to get back to my “real world”.
I still have another 3 months of sabbatical to go but it’ll be a bit different given I will have some clinical work to do. It wasn’t the easiest thing to organise but I’m very VERY glad I did this…
