Ola from Barcelona!
It’s essentially the last few days of this vacation and I’ve really enjoyed ending on a slower pace that’s given me a chance to reflect and “smell the roses”. On the note of reflecting, it’s our 1st wedding anniversary today and I can’t believe the year has flown by!
It’ll be off to our favourite paella restaurant in a bit after visiting the famed Park Guell later today.

Now, it’s been nearly 2 weeks that I’ve been away but I have to say it feels much longer. In that time, we’ve gone from Lisbon > Sintra > Malaga > Tangier > Chefchaouen > Malaga > Barcelona. Tomorrow, I’ll be heading back to Lisbon. Initially the plan was to head to Porto and maybe sail into the Mediterranean with a friend who has just bought an awesome boat. However, the timing was going to be really tight and at this stage, the boat is unlikely to be ready.
So I decided to head back home early.
That’s right: the holiday felt long enough and in keeping with my thoughts on the week, I actually want some time to edit photos and catch up on thinking, so I changed my flights so I should be home earlier than expected but still having half a week at home before going back to work.
In the meantime, the past few days of quiet have meant that I did get to edit some photos here. Here’s a brief gallery of my time away.

As you can see, it was a fair amount to do in 2 weeks so I think I definitely want to unwind for a bit before heading back to work. Old Raffy would shudder at the thought of “wasting” holiday time that could be spent in new countries but I’m becoming cognisant of the need for simple down time. So there you go, dear reader, so accountability and ACTUAL change in how I do things!
