This whole “work-life” balance thing might have some legs! Last week was one of the most pleasant work weeks I’ve had in years! I suppose when you begin your week with a lunch time walk by the beach on a Monday, you expect that the week will go well.
The rest of the week was also quite pleasant. I had the privilege of attending the Digital Health Festival and checking out what’s up and coming in the areas of health technology. While it was “work” because it was so different to the day to day, I found it quite refreshing. I met a whole bunch of people working on start ups and it seemed like some of what I thought was common sense was ACTUALLY useful advice for them!
The rest of the week went surprisingly smoothly even with there being work on Saturday. Given it was the long weekend, it was pretty relaxing to be able to take my time to do things instead of rushing around to get everything done. Being it was also the wife’s birthday, we had to go out for dinner. I had never been to Society, the restaurant, before. But boy, am I glad we went! It genuinely was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long while. I’d heard not the best reviews but my experience was very different to what I heard/read.
The other part about having time was being able to actually act on an opportunity on social media. Last week, I did my first sponsored post 🤯. I’ve signed up in the past to some influencer apps but most things that come up are just not my kinda thing. When the chance came to do some posts about coffee, especially when it was a brand I already bought, it was a no brainer!
I know I’m meant to feel like a bit of a sell out, but the truth is, I’m actually quite happy that I did it. It’s a brand of coffee I actually drink (my parents buy it all the time so that I can have coffee when visiting) and I quite liked how the photos turned out.
