Last week’s vacation was very much needed and I have to say the constant level of tiredness has disappeared! I didn’t even realise it was there until about 3-4 days of sleeping in and resting. Prior to the pandemic, I used to think I was being a bit spoilt in taking a week off every 3-4 months, but I’m realising that I only managed to work long hours BECAUSE of those breaks…
I’m already planning the future ones for later in the year including one massively long one around September. I haven’t quite thought the whole thing through yet but likely will end up spending it in Europe. At this stage, several of the people I met on the trip to Antarctica are interesting in going to Greenland! So it could become one of those exploratory trips!
In other news, my brother who normally resides in London returned back on a whim which then translated into a cascade of other people visiting and family events. All of a sudden, extended family from interstate and overseas will all be here in about a week or 2. This will be one of the biggest end of Ramadan/Eid festivities in the family for a loooooong while! Given the sudden nature of it all (gotta love Indian families!) I’ll be trying to take some more time off to show them around Melbourne and Australia. I suppose that’s good for the newsletter and blog: less of me whinging about work! 😂
It’s almost iftar time right now so I’ll keep this update short. Before I go, thought I’d share one of the cutest moments with Luna after the trip last week. Clearly the cats missed their humans and Luna climbed on me sitting on the couch and promptly fell asleep…
