Hello from Canberra! This edition of the Sunday Surprise is coming from Australia’s capital city (and no, it’s not Sydney). I had originally picked this week for holidays some time last year not realising it was going to fall on Ramadan. Since most of the time was already approved, I thought a greater than 2 day break after so long was warranted. If nothing else, it makes for a pretty office to work from staying at the Peppers Gallery Canberra in the heart of the city…
The Ramadan fundraising is going along well, even though I’m a bit slow on the video front. Currently, we’re at around $350 raised! Thanks to everyone who’s donated so far. We’re about half way through the month so I’ll be catching up on the videos during this break after the tiredness of last week.
On the note of last week, it was so weird! For about 72 hrs I was fatigued to the point of going for a 500m walk and then sleeping for 4 hrs. I was convinced it was Covid so I went and got a PCR test in the end. Negative! So I have no idea what that was but by the evening of the third day, over the course of about 30 mins, it felt like my body was coming out of “low power mode” and got back to normal.
Back to the trip – the past few days in Canberra has been amazing. It’s such a pleasant city to leisurely stroll through. Most things aren’t far away and it doesn’t feel hectic at all.
Later today, it’ll be another drive a few hours away to be closer to the coast and nature, but more on that next week…
